The Grommersch Family: Rain Rain Go Away/ April 2013/ BIG NEWS!!!

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather so much lately that when it started raining this week, we didn't quite know what to do with ourselves. We've been working in the yard a lot lately planting flowers, grilling out on our back patio, riding our new bikes, & playing in the back yard on the swing set w/ Ella. She LOVES to be outside and I am so glad. I will have to admit. I wasn't the outdoorsy type child. I preferred playing inside my playhouse or my room with my baby dolls and barbies. The most outdoorsy I got was swimming in Lella's pool so I am glad that she likes to explore, run, & play outdoors. It definitely helps in wearing her out and helping her get a good nights sleep which in turn means Mama gets a good nights sleep :)

April has been a busy, yet fun month. We finished up 8 weeks of Ella's swimming lessons at The Dive Shop. She loved getting in the water each week & learned a lot. I will be sure to continue working w/ her this summer, so she will really be ready to go next Spring! I did a short 4 week Bible Study at church with a couple of friends from our SS class on Monday evenings for 4 weeks. It was a Joyce Meyer study which I had never done before, so I really enjoyed it. Big Daddy came and visited us for a long weekend and we once again got some more projects done around the house. We always feel so productive after he leaves, although I think we wear him completely out while he is here! The last weekend in April we had Springfest in Southaven & Tim was on a cooking team w/ some guys from church, so we hung out at the cooking tent on Friday night and let Ella ride some of the carnival rides. Saturday, Ella & I went to a formal tea @ Betsy's church w/ she & Robbye. Mom even came up to join us. It was so much fun to get dressed up and eat so many delicious foods. Afterwards, Mom carried Ella home for the night so Tim and I could go to the DMB concert that night at Springfest where (thankfully) even though there was a 90% chance of rain, it didn't even rain ONE drop! It was fun b/c we got to see several of our friends that we don't get to see a lot. Work has been crazy busy for both Tim and myself as well, which is not a bad thing. If we are busy, we are making money, right? ;)

And now for the BIG NEWS (we'll save the best for last ;)

........We got some WONDERFUL news in mid April that Tim is in fact GETTING HIS CONTRACT w/ State Farm! He had his 9 month review w/ his boss & he told him that he was recommending him for contract. We got an email last week that his contract had been approved and now we're just waiting to see where and when we will go to the "official" signing. It has been a long 2 year journey with many changes & a huge leap of faith, but I am SO proud of Tim. Not only is he getting his contract, but he is rocking the region in app count! He was #2 just last month out of 42 agents for the month & the year (to date). Being that he is an "outsider" from the industry, this is a big accomplishment for him. Of course, he couldn't do it w/o his wonderful team - Emily, David, & Karen. More to come on this huge achievement/milestone later......
